Well . . . on one hand, you have the point James made about sets competing
with other sets for sales. On the other hand, you still have the fact that,
regardless of which set they sell, TLG makes a profit. In addition to that,
you'll have some people buying two, or more, not too mention the sudden burst
in sales for people that already have everything that has already been
released. Personally, I don't understand why you would release a product after
the Holiday rush, anyway.
What it really comes down to is this: TLG is really only going to sell a
certain number of each set, regardless of when they're put on the shelves. The
distribution of when these sets are sold will be different, in some cases, but
all in all, they will still get sold.
