I don't think so.  At least, not exactly.

In the snowspeeder, the brick attaching to the canopy looks like it is a
1x2 brick.  The 1x side goes to the canopy clip.  So whatever special
hardware is there, it has to go on the short-side of 1x2 brick.

If the 'clip' on the canopy is actually a short bar between two discs,
then the brick that attaches to canopy could be a 1x2 brick with a 'top
clip'[1] on the short side.

I don't know of a picture with a good view of the canopy on the X-wing
and Y-wing models.
