There are alot of rumors flying around that TLG. Heres what they (the girl I
talked to) said!

Umm... who is 'the girl'? Was she a TLG employee? Was she a phone
reprisentative? Was she a store owner?

The would be stupid not to do a Falcon and when they do it will be around $100
and 1000 pieces. they need to keep the price down for the parents and kids,
plus collectors.

The sets will be out around March 2000.

As you probably know they really couldn't tell me much but this is what she
told me.

She didn't know anything about Slave 1 and the Bespin Cloud Car. If they do do
Slave one I'm geussing it will be in the $30 to $40 range and the Cloud Car
will probably be around $20 They need to do a AT-AT. Tooo bad it would be the
largest set ever done and would be probably be like $500. Oh, well I can hope!

Actually, the AT-AT wouldn't be as large as a full-scale Millenium Falcon,
despite what it might look like in the movie. The best guess is that a AT-AT is
about 23.5 meters tall (even though the 'official' height is 15 meters) and the
Millenium Falcon is roughly 27 meters long.... couple that to the fact that
half the hieght of the AT-AT is made up by really skinny legs, whereas the
Falcon is a lot thicker... But yeah, a minifig scale AT-AT is pretty big... and
because of the complicated walking mechanism and huge piece count, I doubt
they'll come out with one... (unless is significantly scaled down) I could see
them using the new four pronged pieces (see rock raiders, and top of Sith
Infiltrator) for the AT-AT feet, but that makes it about 1/4 the size it
'should' be...

(...) That's a bit short for the MF. I believe the 'official' length is 30 meters, and independent analysis indicates that 36 would be a more fitting minimum length. Steve just nitpicking the day away... (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.starwars)
