This reminded me - I had my first negative set encounter, ie, I was missing a
piece, and it was from a SW set!  The Gungan Sub was missing a 2x3 grey low
slope.  I searched the entire living room, the little plastic bags, the box,
the other boxes, the other plastic bags.  Nothing.  It's not like I couldn't
replace it (which I did, but I grumbled), but still, I've never been missing a
piece like that before.

I allways thought this was virtually impossible with LEGO. To miss a
piece that is...

If you do find that a piece is "missing," TLG will
replace it, virtually no questions asked.  I've never
had any problems with that--I was missing a whole
polybag from a clearance set once, and they told
me to tally the pieces and then let them know what
I needed (!!).  Since I got the set for almost nothing,
and had already opened the others so I couldn't
assay the bag directly, I decided it wasn't worth it.
I assume they'll be just as kind with the SW sets.

Now, I just opened my second Droid Fighter (7111).
As it turns out, the 2x2 inverse-45-slope dark grey
pieces are "weird."  Y'see, the LEGO logo on top
of the two frontmost studs are progressively "turned."
When the two pieces are set side by side properly,
you can see the first one is correct, the second skewed
15 degrees, the third is skewed 50 degrees, and the
last about 80 degrees.  This, to me, is Highly Weird.
Has anyone else encountered various unprecedented
malformations in the ABS as of late?

Wow!!! I just looked at mine and they are the same, the lego logo is turned every different direction, I wonder how this could have happened with their control measures.. Kinda reminds me of the samonsite era bricks... I think Lego was a little (...) (26 years ago, 8-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)
