The first thing I did on finishing the model was try that because someone
(cough cough) said something like that to me- and the weight of the bulk of the
fighter overcame the peg's holding tension, and the fighter plummeted the ~4
feet from my standing shoulder height to the ground, shattering on impact and
re-creating the scene in the trailer a little more realistically than I meant
to.
But, I got to re-build the model! :D

| (...) I thought the engines were detachable so that you could pop them off quickly as you're wooshing it around the house -- for when they get hit by enemy fire. BTW, I like the way the tail spins around on the peg -- it allows you to hold the model (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)
