EP III questions (spoilers if you haven't seen it)

Having a hankering for Hayden Christensen's stellar acting style, I popped in my
EPIII DVD last night to review a few of the highlights, and two questions
presented themselves to me.

First:  What's the timespan of the film?  The only indication that it takes
place in anything longer than an afternoon is the fact that Padme is
just-barely-visibly pregnant in the early scenes and then goes to full term at
the end.  I attribute this to Lucas' clumsy directing, to be honest.

Second:  Is that Grand Moff Tarkin on the command bridge with Sidious and Vader
near the film's end?  I hadn't even noticed that guy when I watched it before,
but it just occurred to me that it might be him.  Not Peter Cushing, of course,
but still...

Yes, you caught the clumsy directing and continuity there! Unless, in that galaxy far, far away, pregnancies are much shorter. And I assumed it was Tarkin, too. So, the Death Star was "New" in Ep IV (its weapons needed a suitable target for (...) (18 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.starwars)
