If TPM is just mediocre, it will still be the hit of the summer. It would
have to be really abysmal to fail in the marketplace. I'm expecting George
will make his money back extremely quickly.
And there was bound to be more hype about this one -- these days, big
summer movies *always* get a lot of hype. Look at all the Godzilla hype
last summer (was that one really as bad as I heard?). Plus, there hasn't
been a new SW movie in 15+ years. I pretty sure SW is the most successful
series of movies ever made, and there are a *lot* of Star Wars fans (well,
no duh). So this hype is really going push-pull -- the marketers are
pushing like mad, and the fan(atics) are pulling to get as much as they
can.
