Maybe they're mostly 1x1 plates...

But seriously, to me it seems like there'd be tons of little pieces, much more
than a larger set usually has. I guess this seems reasonable to me if I take
into account how the pods are basically constructed.

I was hoping there was a 48 baseplate that was beige with a little dune on it,
kinda like a classic space crater plate, but no such luck.
