I could remember very well that the original episode 4 was released with a
bare and naked name of "Star Wars". Actually, I first saw the name "A New
Hope" when during my first sessions through the net. When the revised
trilogy came in, it was on the movie posters. But I don't remember exactly
if the famous yellow introductory text has the phrase "A New Hope" in the
original release. Actually, this is very normal, since I was in primary
school when I saw it, and absolutely lacking f English at those times..:-)

Well, I don't think "Menace" is all that bad of a title.  It grew on me.
And as for "A New Hope", that was added _years_ after the initial • release.
Star Wars was a mega-box office smash just as Star Wars.
But yeah, it does sound a little lame.

Yes! Someone that can finally back me up. I keep trying to tell my
friends and brothers that that title was added later but they don't
believe me. What I don't know is when excactly was the ANH title
added. I remember watching Ep.4 where the intro did not say ANH.

All you have to do is look at all the old advertising material.  It all • says
"Star Wars" period.

Good question as to when.  I saw it originally, and I remember seeing it • again
at a theatre for a special engagement.  I don't recall if it was an • anniversary
engagement of some kind or maybe a charity event?  But I remember my neice • went
with us, and she was fairly young (now 14).
Neither time did it have ANH on it.
