I think George is just trying to get back at a lot of people. A lot of
people were upset with the title of TPM because they said it was too vague.
Some people couldn't figure out that Palpatine was the actual "Menace" of
the movie and not Darth Maul, which is why he is a "Phantom". I find it
easy to understand, and I'm sure others here do too along with George. So,
the very simple title, Attack of the Clones was chosen alomst to spite the
people who said TPM was too complex by giving them something too simple.
