  Re: Star Wars on DVD

(...) Wow... I hope so. (...) IMO DVD is cool technology, but I won't a player until it becomes neccesary (ie: VHS dies.) The reason is DVD movies typically cost $5-$10 more than VHS, and I don't see much difference in visual quality. My former (...) (24 years ago, 28-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: My guesses again for 2001 sets.

(...) check out the Episode 2 facts section over at theforce.net (the link should be on lugnet.starwars) They state that a late 2001 release is possible, but it's more likely it will be late spring 2002. Actual filming began earlier this month... :) (...) (24 years ago, 28-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Star Wars on DVD

First off, there was an announcement about a month ago, saying that Lucasfilm had finally felt the pressure from the fans and were going to start work on the trilogy DVD and EP1 DVD. If you are waiting to buy a DVD... all I can say is WHY? If you (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

I could be wrong about the release date (for some reason, starwars.com seems to be down) but I could have sworn that in an interview for the launch of Ep1 (May 99), Mr. Lucas said the next movie would be in 2 years.   Star Wars on DVD

I have always maintained that the only thing that would finally convince me to convert over to the world of DVD was the release of the Star Wars saga. Many rumors, (some positive, some negative) have surfaced concerning King Lucas and his desire to (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: My guesses again for 2001 sets.

(...) To the best of my knowledge, Episode 2 won't be out until late May 2002, with Episode 3 being out in 2005. So, we still have a couple years before we'll see Episode 2 sets, plenty of time for more Episode 1 sets. -Bryan (24 years ago, 27-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new sets when?

If you are willing to do a little probing/research, I've mentioned it a couple times. There is a company called Rock Tenn that makes and prints up the boxes. They make and print them 3 months prior to the release of the product, and they are located (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)
