In the pipe, five by five.

Hi Everyone, See the UD-5C "Mama 'Rog" VTOL Transport in my "Balrogs" section. Or just click "Whats New" :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Yah! Aliens rule BAY-BEE!! It's been a couple of weeks since i saw that movie. For a moment I thought that this was going to be like...a dropship of everholding... I like the dude in the lightfoot...he seems to enjoy his work. Too bad you (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

Is it just me, or does the 2 man ATV remind anyone else of the V.A.M.P. from G.I. Joe (A.R.A.H. natch'!)...I may have to comandeer that idea and play with some Joe MOCs soon. Yo Joe! Nice work, as usual, Mark. Matt (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Heh, well actually you can fit all the crew plus either the Lightfoot or the ATV. :^) (...) Yeah, I just don't have enough of the appropriate parts in black. :^( ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) If it reminds you of anything, it should be the A.W.E. Striker :^) (...) Thanks! ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Nice utilitarian feel to this one. It definitely screams of 'transport'. -Tom McD. when replying, there's a spamcake born every minute. (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

But Clutch was gen-one A.R.A.H. ...Crankcase was just a poser! And when it comes right down to it, slap Rock 'n' Roll on the R.A.M. and let him rip it up...that's all you need (yes, Rock 'n' Roll was my fav gen-one Joe)! Matt (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Uh.. thanks, I think. ;^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Wow, That is a freakin cool hatch. I LOVE IT!!!! Oh... and I guess the rest of it is OK as well. ; ) Seriously. I really like this Transport. It really has some nice lines. I'll have to keep it in mind for technique fodder. Todd Trotter (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) :D Watch out, it's fast becoming the Small Craft Hatch of Choice around here. You've created a monster, Todd! (...) I liked the engine pylons' look--nice use of the Sebulba 2x2 grey flags. But this is Mark, so I expect nothing less. I did have (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) EGAD! That is good! Reminds of something I just can't place right now... But that is good. Almost makes me want to lock myself in my room today until I get my dropship for Confed done! Good Work Admiral sir! Rick "All the world is my cheese (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Heh. Thanks Todd. I forgot to mention you in my original post... so a big Thank You for the door design. (...) :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Huh? I showed the front hatch open, and I showed the rear boarding ramp open also. What was it that you wanted to see? ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Thanks Rick. It's based on the V-22 Osprey. I just replaced the engines and changed the tail design and modified the nose a bit. :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) To me it seems sort of like a cross between a Hunter Killer and the Aliens Dropship. In other words very Cameronesque. : ) (URL) Trotter (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Um, the tesseract boarding ramp? You know, the hypercube access panel...uhhhh... I was having problems with the phone line, so was connecting at 19.2 (ewww) and it balked after loading the top eight thumbnails. I didn't see the rest initially. (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) "I want a nice clean deployment this time!" :] Mark, could you put up a photo of the starboard-side of the nose? I'm trying to see how you worked the big canister into the fuselage. Thass a swee' ship. KDJ ___...___ LUGNETer #203, Windsor, (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) but that tail screams HK (and it screams it well!). I may borrow the offset-loop plate mount that Mark uses to get the "off" rudder angle on the upper ailerons (how stable are those?). But that quote...I almost went and fired up Brood War, (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Kyle, Looks to me like he just used half of a canister (port side) and just built up the starbord side using slopes and stuff. Very nicely done. But yes, a closeup photo showing how it was incorporated would be cool. Todd Trotter (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

Awwwyeah! Once again, nothin' but mad props for the M-Dogg! I was a little slow on checking this one out, sorry Dogg. Those engines really caught my eye, I dig all the vents and slats. Good overall shape on this one, kind of a mixture of sleekness, (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) They're plenty stable. They don't flop around or anything. :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Yep, I just stuck the half-canister on the side of the nose section by using a couple of headlight bricks. There are a few 2x2 inverse slopes beneath to slope it back up to the underside of the fuselage. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Thanks, D-Man. I be frontin' Word to yo Layday and little D-Man. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

Woah, very cool. One of the first things I thought when I saw this was "Thats very Sandlinesque" This is of course a good thing. Love the front. Love those swivveling side guns. Love it all. Very tight construction. -Jon "Mark Sandlin" (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Well, I meant more in the sense of, "do they pop off when you accidentally go *pwang* ("PING?") and brush the aileron?" A lot of my variable geometries do that, because they're on an axis, which by definition is fixed only by a single point. (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Thanks Jon! :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Oh I see... They seem to hold pretty well, as long as I don't bump it too hard. It's reasonably sturdy. :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Yes, it certainly does! Especially now that it comes in black as well as green (and also in yellow.. ugh). That vtol dropship looks really cool... reminds me of a V-22 Osprey (with jets instead of props, of course). Mark W. (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Awesome! Way cool rendition. I'd like to see more detail of your undercarriage if you get the pics. I also like the way you incorporated that sight-hound-style (space contest) side hatch. VERY nice! :^D Now I want to make one! ~Trev (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Wow. I almost missed this. That thing rocks, man. The shape is total killer -- and the fact that it carries a vehicle is icing on the cake. Mmmmm, cake.... :-, Cheers, - jsproat (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Only my wife gets to see that. ;^) (...) Thanks Trev! Todd's design works well, doesn't it? :^) Thanks Todd! ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Thanks Sproat! I wanted to make it large enough that it could carry a vehicle, but I didn't necessarily want it to be so large that it was cumbersome. I think the ATV is a good compromise. I'm particularly happy with the fact that I can fit (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Uhhhh.... I *WAS* going to tell you about those pics, that found their way onto the internet....but I thought you had already seen them. Sorry. :-, Cheers, - jsproat (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: In the pipe, five by five.

(...) Mmmmm, nice. I particularly like the engine pods and the ATV. Those Balrogs are in business now! - Paul (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)
