What's the hardest part of an MOC?

For me, it's always the beginning. Even though I did a few sketches this time to keep me focused, I still have the most difficult time just getting a shape together. Sometimes I wish I had a small bubble of zero gravity above my desk so that I could (...) (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)

Re: What's the hardest part of an MOC?

(...) For me the hardest part of an MOC is the finishing touches: Getting it to look JUST RIGHT. It can take anything between a few days to many months until I'm 'happy' with it (a subjective phrase indeed). For years before I knew of CAD and all (...)   Re: What's the hardest part of an MOC?

Hello! For me the hardest part is to connect two seperately developed modules. Since I haven't built any noteworthy space MOC yet I can only speak of Castle MOCs, so e.g. if I have a concept for a gate and build it and I have a concept for a rear (...) (20 years ago, 7-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)

Re: What's the hardest part of an MOC?

For me, it is when you get about two thirds the way through, and start to have this feeling that you may not have enough brick to finish it the way you want. Then the second box arrives... (...) Next thing I know, I'm swimming in (...) (20 years ago, 7-Mar-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

"Johannes 'Jojo' Koehler" <chutspe@gmx.net> wrote in message news:ICyJG7.11t9@lugnet.com... (...) What you need to do is imagine what you want to connect the two modules with. Does it want to be a wall? Does it want to be shops? Guard Towers? Or (...) (20 years ago, 7-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)

(...) look (...) I'm (...) Oh yeah! I'm with you there. I can usually tell when I'm done when I tinker with the desing and make changes but then end up back where I started! Dave (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)

Re: What's the hardest part of an MOC?

(...) That's easy: It's getting 5 to 10 thousand pieces into a construction and having Thomas take a look and say: "Wouldn't it be better if you did it this way?" and so 5 to 10 thousand pieces get taken apart and sorted and reassembled and ... it's (...)   Re: What's the hardest part of an MOC?

I would say getting the darn things finished. I often get 90% done with something then decide I do not like and tear it apart. I would say I finish maybe 1 out of every 8 models I start Brent (URL) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)
