Dude, you need to try and work a little subtlety into MOCs like this. The
initial idea when I built the Rapier was to have a basically cross-shaped
fighter, but there's more to it than that. A cathedral is cross shaped, but it's
not just a cross. I've seen some of your sailing ships,

Seperated for emphais

and I THINK it would be

cool if you could work some of that detailing and style into some space MOCs.
This could be cooler if it looked more like an ornate jeweled cross or
something, maybe without the figure,

which isn't really making it FOR ME.

Capitalization emphasis added.

Dan, slap me for saying so, but I think you need to work a little subtlety
into your critiques.  How about saying that you would prefer something more
ornate instead of declaring that it would be "cooler" if it were indeed so.
So his design is different from yours.  Isn't that one of the main reasons
why this hobby is so much fun?  Because we can appreciate and understand and
respect the differences between us?

I think the stripped-down style of the MOC is a perfect fit in more ways
than one, and it's funny!

Dude, perhaps you should think about reading sentences in their entiriety, and
in the context of surrounding paragraphs before leaping to judgements of their
meaning. Now, please don't think that I am telling you what to do, because that
is my intent, although, perhaps I should have said that in the first sentence,
as you may choose not to read this sentence as having any relevance to the
first. The tone of my post was CLEARLY that of my opinion. Hence the use of the
phrases "I think" and "making it for me." I'm not trying to force my views on
him, but was only giving my opinion of his MOC. Granted I made an assumption
that he wanted opinions, based on the fact that he posted his moc on an internet
message board, but I don't think that's unreasonable.

In conclusion, if you only read one sentence of this post, please read this one:
I would appreciate it if my posts were read as single units with related topics
and meaning, so that my actual intents may be better communicated.

I'm not trying to say you can't have an opinion, however I am saying that your opinion is largely negative, so why not accentuate the positive instead? Dave (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.space)
