  Re: SHOTTLE!

(...) Did you wash the Goo Gone off afterwards? I do (by hand with a tiny amount of dish soap, though glass-cleaner will also work) because I don't like the slick oily feel, but I know that citrus-based cleaners will cloud the surface of ABS over (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) Half of that. 1000 pounds. Think "compact car", or 1/10th of a Hummer, if you prefer. Consider the various systems that would have to be strapped onto the pilot. You start out with a frame designed to fit around a human body. You'd need (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) The Korolev looks just like I would expect an Eastern Block frigate to look--kudos on hitting the theme really well. I really like the weapons array on the front, too. Not such a big fan of the thruster outlet, it just isn't nozzle-y enough (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SHOTTLE!

(...) I tried using Goo Gone and some other citrus-type remover, but I noticed the they often clouded the clear canisters up (I'm guessing that the citric acid in the remover eats away at the plastic surface slightly). The way I do it now leaves the (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) Yar. Armored is the idea. Vangaurd and it's big ole guns? bah. Three Korolev class frigates can take it down no sweat. (...) Very minor limitations, like tiles or something. Not much. Elegant color design: that stripe was completely (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) Thanks. :) I do have a style of my own, don't I. ;-) (...) Never thought about it that way, the fact it does look armored because of those facts. Nice thoughts on vacu-forming. :) (...) I wanted contrast, and black didn't look right.while (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) Yeah, I forgot about those pesky missiles in design, Soren broguht it up. I also am a fan of bridge towers, ranging from full flying bridges to the armored barely sticking out kind. I based the protrude on front off the Sulaco of Aliens fame. (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) Thanks! And that was only a second resort after I couldnt get the original shape to work. :) (...) Yeah, but I don't like the look of smooth ships, But the gaps did need to be filled up. The way the ship is angled, it prevents the 2xN sections (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

Dude, one ton? I'm not even considdering using enough armor to withstand an artillery or missle barrage. That's way to inconcieveable. That kind of PA wouldn't be woth the trouble. Lightweight, durable materials like carbon fiber, magnesium alloys, (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: short range starfighter - Xeon

(...) Okay I took your advice, (URL) I think that maybe I put more than a splash of red on it, but it still looks good (21 years ago, 28-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
