  Re: Jade Empire Hong Hovertank

(...) OH...WOW! That thing is awesome! I was curious as to what a Jade Empire ground vehicle might look like, and I think you built something that perfectly grasps the essence of a machine of war built solely for destruction. And on top of that, (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) Another thought is maintainability and cost. Consider that WWII Germany was able to produce several tank destroyers for the cost of a single tank, simply because the expense of the turret went away. As the end of WWII approached and money (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) Those are all powerful advantages but I think that tanks are more efficient at providing an armored and enclosed area because they're closer to a spherical shape than a power suit, and because they get mass fraction advantages. Anecdotally: (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) I think so. Since a tank (I'm talking about real life MBTs, not hovertanks) is firmly situated on the ground, it is a more stable firing platform. Also, even if powersuits are eventually developed, I doubt that they will be able to carry the (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) I think tanks will still remain useful as siege weapons, spearheading assaults, and general heavy battle. Power armor might be very useful for surgical strikes, and urban warfare. But in an open field, or over long distance, I think tanks will (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Tanks or Power Armor

Hello everyone. I was checking out (URL) Ryan Wood's Jade Empire Hong Hovertank post> and he mentions that we have seen little in ground combat vehicles other than (URL) power suit>. That got me thinking, when you have Power Suits available, should (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Yeah, remember that big white and blue space ship at Brickfest?

Wow!!! Way to go Adrian! I was blown away when I saw the initial pics from Brickfest and I've been eagerly awaiting the official post from the builder. As always, great presentation. This MOC just kicks a** in every posible way. Not only is it epic (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Inside the Tribunal's Shuttle Bay: PCS Paul Dirac

It's uncanny how you read my mind. I have had in my head for some time now a shuttle-type ship with a panoramic canopy for unobstructed downward visibility, but limited upward/rearward visibility. It would be utilitiarian in nature, used in an (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Inside the Tribunal's Shuttle Bay: PCS Paul Dirac

(...) This did turn out to be quite the playable little set. And it's swooshable! It is quite sturdily put together. In fact, when docking into the Tribunal's shuttle bay, I can hold just the very end of the shuttle (the inverse Slave 1 canopy and (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Inside the Tribunal's Shuttle Bay: PCS Paul Dirac

(...) Originally, the shuttle was named after a certain Science Fiction author who shall now remain nameless. But when lenny told me about Paul Dirac and his accomplishments, it just seemed suitable to name the shuttle after the man who first (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Inside the Tribunal's Shuttle Bay: PCS Paul Dirac

(...) Indeed. It would be a fun place to live, no? (...) I don't know if the Tribunal will still be together come BF 2005. I'm sure the Paul Dirac will be, because the shuttle doesn't use a huge amount of pieces, but the Tribunal herself is just so (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Big ship and Blood Moon

(...) When building a vessel that is this shape (long and skinny with a rounded front) it's quite difficult to avoid comparisons to the Discovery from 2001, so I just accept them. It wasn't my intent to copy that design, it just sort of worked out (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Yeah, remember that big white and blue space ship at Brickfest?

(...) Yup, I'm a sneaky little one, aren't I? I started working on this project in November of last year, so a fair portion of the ship was completed before my son was born. Getting the rest done proved tricky, though. Adrian (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

That is a slick moc right there. At first glance I wasn't thrilled by the general shape of the moc, but closer looks through the pics show off how well this thing is designed and built. The inclusion of the different (removable! wow!) room (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: B.I. Joe Skyhawk

This isn't my favorite BIJoe model, but it's stil pretty cool. Neat decals as usual. Every little bit of playability you fit into your mocs is, I'm sure, the result of minutes/hours of tinkering with bricks. The engine swivel is pretty neat, in fact (...)   Re: B.I. Joe Skyhawk

(...) That's lovely, really. Lovely in its own right; I'm still not convinced by the canopy geometry, though (can anyone every fully be, given how unique the original is?). The color scheme is dead perfect, though. I'd love to see you tackle the (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Cool MOC! I saw it a while back on BS. Making something transform is uber hard, so I give you major props for actually making it work. As for the cannon idea... I will definitely use it sometime in the future. Thanks for the idea. (...) Thanks (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Big ship and Blood Moon

I saw the pics of the big ship while thumbing through the BrickFest photos. Everyone has pretty much mentioned the praise I would give for it, so ditto on the posts. Very nice, very big ship. It has a 2001 Space Odyssey feel to it. I also saw Blood (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
