Re: Modular Space MOC: Cargo Shunter

(...) "People call me... Tim" Tim, this is a nice little MOC - definately something I'd like to see buzzing around a moonbase cargo station. I have beef with the color, however. The yellow-red scheme is working for me, but the trans-neon-green (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

  Re: P-38 Contest Entry: S/FB-12 "Lightning 2"

(...) I actually found the wing droop to be quite nice - a nice change of pace. Altho my eyes are getting acustomed to looking at studless creations, this design is nice. The engines specifically look very cool; a convincing use of the brown droid (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

(...) True...nostalgia is a powerful factor in the reverence the old CS sets enjoy here, but for me anyway it's the concept of playablility that comes through in the design and basic construction of the sets that tweaks me more so than the actual (...)   Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) I most certainly did. It would fit nicely with my planned next MOC - I am working on the designs for the LaGrange I space station from the very same movie. Yours, Christian Treczoks (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) Hi, Over the weekend, I actually managed to rebuild a working model of my old space container system (including my enhancements) as promised. Pictures and short descriptions can be found at (URL). Yours, Christian Treczoks (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) More pics of cargo space and rail elements : ) The modular cab & thruster assemblies rendevous with long-range hyperspace haulers in orbit above the moonbase and bring TEU's down to the surface. (URL) the surface, the TEU's are transferred to (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

(...) ... (...) Save a spot for me up there dude. I like the old sets, but appreciate them more for their place in history than as models in themselves. I had the 924 as a kid, and could build it from memory. When I came out of my dark age 18 months (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

Re: PP 1444 X, my P-38 contest entry

Ley this is a great ship. I really like the slide-open cockpit and arch-insets in the wings. Like Paul, I'm not feeling the P-38 vibe on this one, but it is cool nonetheless. The only aspect of the ship I didn't like was the drive-dingus that hangs (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

<snip> (...) Tim, you better stop making me feel old. Sometimes I think it's these ABS bricks that make me feel younger than I really am... (granted, I'm not as old as some of the folks (Like Larry), but I'm up there with most of em, I'm sure... (in (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) No problem. Thanks for posting the link. I spent hours looking through that site. Lots of interesting stuff. Play well. Tim Strutt (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Photos (Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.)

(...) Cool I will have to try a setup like that when I get some time. Thanks, Kevin (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) Thanks! (...) Yup, that's right. Obviously my interpretation of the interior exercises a lot of artistic liberties but I think the general arrangement is correct. In (URL) this picture> you can see the centrifuge in the vertical plane at the (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) Thanks! (...) That's a great idea. I was toying with the idea of building a custom display case for it but getting an existing one would be much easier. Your 'long narrow shelf up high on the wall' comment triggered another possibility that I (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) Yes, I did come across that site in my research. They also have a good number of pictures of cool real life models of the various 2001/2010 craft in the (URL) Arts - Models> section. Thanks for the response! J (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

Like others have said, seeing this model immediately brang back memories of watching 2001: A Space Odyssey and hearing the accompanying music... Only a masterpiece of a MOC does that to you! :-) Phenomenal work Jason. I am floored by your solutions (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Stowed-armament fighter and police skycar

I made this fighter quite some time ago as my first use of 3x12 wedge slopes. At meetings this is the favourite with the kids, the stowed-weapon function makes it very playable. The canopy was originally trans-red, more recently I acquired a (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: PP 1444 X, my P-38 contest entry

(...) Hi Ley, It's a clever design with some cool ideas, I particularly like the domed-cylinder-throu...the-arches thing. It seems like too radical a departure from the P-38 design to be a competitive entry, though. Is there a prize for the most (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

Hi Thanks for sorting out the link Tim. Chris (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) Wow! That's aMAZing. Let me add to the chorus of accolades, very nice model. My questions are these: I'm not clear on how the centrifuge is arranged (I never figured it out in the movie either...), is it in the vertical plane while the pod (...)
