  That old set FEELING...

Yesterday I opened a MISB 6929 Starfleet Voyager and build it. The build took surprisingly long time, but it was worth every minute of it. There was a FEELING building this classic, seeing it grow in front of your eyes, that I just don't get (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

  New Hovercar: "Coyote"

  Re: Starship Corridor Study Model

(...) Troy, Thanks for the ideas! Although you can't see it because of the angle, there are actually two lockers (the 2 tall, 2 deep, three wide cabinets with white doors) stacked atop each other directly to the right. I'll try and take a better (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: StarScoot

(...) Using newer Lego elements, it's not all that fragile if you hold it in the right places, one of which is if you pincer the whole model between the twin black 1x1 plates with eyeholes on both sides. (...) Moonbase? Did someone say Moonbase? :-) (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest Entry: SA-380 Dragonfly MOC

Cool! Very spacey looking yet true to the P-38 form. The main fuselage has a Y-Wing appeal to it. Good job! --Dan (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Modular Space MOC: Cargo Shunter

This evening I built a couple of Jake's (URL) containers>, and decided to build a little model to go with them. My first (completed) Space MOC in quite some time :^) Introducing the Cargo Shunter. It's the equivalent of a futuristic hover-forklift - (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

Re: P-38 Contest Entry: SA-380 Dragonfly MOC

Hi Douglas, I went on BrickShelf to check it, it's a very nice P38 you designed. It is almost studless, SNOTed (MORVEd :-))everywhere. I especially like the use of the blue 1x3x12 slope on the sides. Among the contest entries, I think this is one of (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Colonial Viper MOC

(...) Yeah, I think you're right, but I was experimenting a bit. It actually looks OK from a distance. Maybe I'll try some of the "new" grey when I get some and see how it looks. If/When I rebuild it to put in landing gear, I will probably change (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Colonial Viper MOC

(...) I go back and forth as to which one I like better. The larger one definitely has more detail and is probably more accurate to the "real thing". The canopy definitely looks more to scale with the larger model. I like the smaller one since it (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Another racing ship- Grace

Hi Tony, I really like this one. Cool design of the engines, looking pretty light, as the main body. It sure can go faster than bigger but much heavier ships! A small space racer we should find on the starting line of the "Earth-to-MoonBase" yearly (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Starship Corridor Study Model

(...) Very nice! Reminds me of my navy days. Some clutter ideas for when you add more corridors: Red firefighting locker White damage control locker Fire main (red pipes) with valves and hose connectors Bulletin board Incident board (board with (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Trainhead gives space a whirl

(...) Welcome to the wonderful world of space building. And a very cool start. The warehouse overall is fairly plain and boxy, but that's tha nature of warehouses, so you got it spot on. That said there's a lot of cool detailing spattered about. I'm (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

I'm wondering if no one saw my last post under the old thread (URL) I've done exactly this and it works great. I'll post some LDRAW files when I get home tonight : ) (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Another racing ship- Grace

Here is Allison Rosier in her ship, Grace: (4 URLs) I built the engines first and really liked them. But they sat around for quite a while before I built the rest of the ship. I had numerous false starts in that time until the ship seemed to build (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) Here's the part in Jeff's original message that particular reaction is to; I read it as changing the corridor height at the ends, but after re-reading the passage it appears ambiguous. (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) I agree that this is more of a container standard than a MB standard. I'm not sure Jeff was talking about modifying the MB standard at all. I think his point is that we should try to make the container standard conform to the MB airlock (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

Snippage (...) I don't think anyone is talking about changing the MB standards as much as designing a standard for containers to fit WITH the MB. Mike (22 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) I don't see this as being an issue for the MoonBase. I see it being more necessary for a MB rail or track system, but even then it doesn't need to be "nailed down" like the MB corridors have to be. If the MB corridors don't line up, then (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

Snippage (...) I'm not very active in .space but I'll throw in my $0.02. I like the idea of the 8 x 16 studs for width and length. If height of a moonbase corridor is 7 bricks and two plates adding corner plates to the bottom corners would bring the (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)
