In lugnet.space, Elroy Davis wrote: snippity (...) snip snip (...) Elroy, these are pretty cool. I think you did a good job making a decent use of the bionicle masks.   Re: castle vs. space (was: Re: AFOLs - The comic!)

(...) Um, technically (and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't worked with such people as Carl Sagan or Issac Asimov ;-) space doesn't actually suck; it's the air (pressurised) that, um, blows. (...) Cute! I like the use of chairs. The grill tiles work well to mimic the openings in the masks. --Bram (22 years ago, 29-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Hover Sleds

(...) Hey, cool! This is the best use anyone's come up with for a Bionicle mask to date. I love these little things! What's puzzling me is how you got the tail arrangements to stick together. Is it all connected, or is something held in by friction? (...) (22 years ago, 29-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Hover Sleds

My girlfriend found a Bionicle mask on the floor where she works, so she stuffed it in her pocket and brought it home for me. I sat looking at it for a while, trying to figure out what to do with it, when I remembered all of the cool hover cars I'd (...) (22 years ago, 29-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: First Permanent Settlement on Mars!!!

(...) Hey, great stuff! I like the shape of the whole thing in general. Someone remind me again where those huge white 1/4 dome pieces come from? I think you nailed the overall shape right on the head. It looks exactly like something NASA would (...) (22 years ago, 29-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  New LUGNET server hardware details

So, we've purchased our cool new servers, from Cambridge, MA vendor "PCs for Everyone". Todd and I and several other friends have gotten systems from them before, and have been extremely pleased -- they know their stuff, including Linux, which is (...) Update: Thanks to donations totalling over $4K from more than 150 people around the world, we not only hit our target in four short days days but exceeded it -- by a margin wide and comfortable enough to afford a superb hardware configuration and (...)   Re: Moonbase at Brickfest... how was it planned?

(...) Yes, thanks to you all. you have given me some ideas and highlighted some of the problems we are doubtless going to face. There will always be a trade-off between flexibility and stadardisation; I guess the trick is finding the right balance. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: First Permanent Settlement on Mars!!!

(...) John, Very nice. Lots of little details and that dome is pretty cool. I like the exercise bike and the weights. I'll echo Lenny though and say if you could get slightly larger pics that would allow us all to see the details even better. (Not (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: First Permanent Settlement on Mars!!!

(...) John, Wow, this eerily echoes what I wanted to build for a Mars mission, the winged shuttles, the pressure building for a base, the lander, the vehicles. I would love to see more, clear and lighter. I'd love to know how you made the big dome, (...) (22 years ago, 27-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)
