Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) bottom - so I had to take it all apart and practically start over. I'm very gratified that someone appreciates that little detail :-) - Paul (22 years ago, 3-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) Thanks! (...) Good catch on the ball. Those little details just bring it to life for me. (...) Come to the dark side... I'm probably gonna build a castle someday with all of the gray bricks I bought for this thing, so it's only fair that you (...) (22 years ago, 3-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) LOL! High praise indeed. (...) Getting details in without having it seem too crammed in is a delicate balancing act. (...) Thanks! - Paul (22 years ago, 3-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) Glad you like it! I'm pleased with how the interior turned out, but to be honest I think the exterior could be better. When I can build something that looks as good as Dragonstar, Vanguard, or Ghoul with the kind of interior details I like... (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) Thanks! It's a little too big & heavy to swoosh around, but it is fun to play with. I've had it at a couple of BayLUG meetings, and the kids just go nuts over it :-) - Paul (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) Thanks! My goal was to include all the features I've always wanted, too. I've come close, but I had to save some stuff for the next one :-) And I'm sure that if you built something big, it would ROCK. Get busy :-) - Paul (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) Yeah, those corners. I seriously considered using some castle wall corners up there to round them off a little bit, but never worked that out to my liking. Some of my earliest sketches had a big dish on front. I suppose it would make sense to (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) Fantastic ship; the form, colors & style are all well thought out. The interior is superb; efficient, but not to small rooms & 4-wide beds. I like seeing 4-wide beds, as 2-wide really doesn't support the whole mini-fig; I imagine they get (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) It would be a perfect spot for a deflector dish of some sort, or a small probe bay. BTW,Paul, awesome ship. Kudos on the colors too. I love those tan floors, and the use of classic parts throughout the ship is really sweet. (like the clear (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Ice Planet Returns

Way Cool. I LOVE Ice Planet. I recon Ice Planet was the last good space theme. (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Ice Planet Returns

Awesome! And by "awesome," I mean totally sweet. Is that a blue stiffy MF torso on the top of mvc-014s.jpg? Most people just make 1 or maybe 2 MOC's for a blast-from-the-past theme. You've got a whole base. You rock. David "Fuzzy" Gregory (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) I was just admiring this stuff on Brickshelf. (...) This is my favorite. The wheels look awesome and I love how the crew can exit from the drop-down ladder. I really like the Flare as well. -Grand Admiral .space Curator (URL) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Ice Planet Returns

(...) Whoa! That IS a lot of Trans-Fluoro Orange! The sheer enormity of your TFO collection gives this one, on a scale of 1 to .Space, a two-thumbs-up! I have fond memories of the Ice Planet line because it was the on the trailing end of what some (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Ice Planet Returns

(...) Gotta love those wheels! For some reason this part of the moonbase really struck my fancy. I love the wheel design and how it coordinates with that huge orange cockpit. Great work!! ~Mike (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: deep-space exploration SHIP "Beagle"

(...) That is one cool ship. Usually I tend to like the aerodynamic or rounded ships, but yours is off the scale for detail alone. I love the wing edge and engine design, with all the intricate complicated looking detailing. The modules are great, (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

  Ice Planet Returns

I have started to document what started out as fun and ended up as a florecent orange obsession. I've put together the Ice Planet Moonbase section 1 than followed it with some support vehicles, ships, speeders, mechs, giants and rockets (for (...)
