[talking about rumored MF]
With apologies, I'm still going to buy it.  My sickness knows no bounds.

Me too, if only for non- (or even just subtly!) patterned saucer pieces.
They would be fantastic for making very large radar dishes that didn't make
you gag every time you saw them from the back.
It'd also be a really wonderful thing to see a radio-telescope in one of
those YALTs[1].....  any Townies reading this ng? ;-)

If so, I hope BT3 would be much better than most of the dreck they tried to
pass off as BT2...

That theme gave us the goobered-up and utterly useless jetpack piece.  They
completey did away with the semi-morbid military black suits of BT1, in • favor
of the more prozac-induced white-shirted smileys.  Few of the models were
anywhere near the quality of BT1.  The only BT2 model I remotely like is • the
6887 Allien Avenger.

While I would agree that the 6887 is by far the best BT2 design (my second
fave TLG spaceship design ever, in fact), a few years back I bought the 6981
Aerial Intruder for the heck of it (and because it was disappearing, like
Space sets were wont to do back then!). I built it, played with it a bit,
looked at it from all angles, contemplated the way they used the pieces.....
and liked it a lot.
The domed cockpit "motif" is perhaps not to everyone's tastes, and those
octagonal canopies are otherwise mostly useless, but it was a strong
identifying feature that I thought looked really good, so much, in fact,
that I bought a few more BT2 sets and made a BT2 super-carrier laden with
lots of little domed fighters (a design long gone, sadly... I'd make a
better one this time around, anyway).

But yeah, the BT2 minifigs suck BIG time. My rule is, if their torso would
be a crap T-shirt design, then it sucks. ;-)
Wow, I just thought of that. Now I _really_really_really_ want a T-shirt
with the Classic Space logo on it....... some stores do custom designs,
don't they?
Why do I get the feeling that somebody here is gonna mention their complete
space-fig-torso-print T-shirt collections..... ;-)

(...) I actually used to have a grey ball cap with the Space logo on it that I bought at a skate shop for $25. It was really cool, I have NO idea what happened to it though =/ Kya (25 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.space)
