I guess Im missing the point. How would this be easier to deal with >than
10 high corridors (and subsequent floors at 10, 20, 30, etc)? I get the >part
about larger things underneath, but thats it. Something else to it?

Yep. 2 floors to every corridor for those who wish to do it. From an engineering
standpoint, this wouldnt be possible for 10 high floors if you wanted minifigs
to stand in them.
Im in agreement with you Mike. Lego tends to make things easier to use in
multiples of 12 much more frequently than multiples of 10, so it should also
make building new modules a bit easier. The only poeple who benefit from 10 high
floors are those who work exclusively in X x X x 5 bricks anyway and those folks
are tough to find.
