MOC inspired by Jet Black's Hammerhead in Cowboy Bebop

Hello fellow .spacers I've decided to de-lurk and get a Brickshelf account and post my latest MOC. Its inpsired by Jet Black's MONO boat from Cowboy Bebop. I didn't have the right bricks to do the colors right, nor did I want to make the round MONO (...) (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Nice. I like the forward section, very good use of parts. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Dude! I Love the Hammerhead in CB! As one of the many hardcore Bebop fans I applaud you attempt at this MOC. I have been playing with idea to build one, but the difficult angles prevented me from attemping. The colors are great! The angles on the (...) (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) I'll admit that the arm looks a little wimpy, especially the claw. If anyone can come up with a better idea let me know and I'll incorporate it. As is evident in the pictures I was originally going to post without any sort of claw, but I added (...) (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) I'm not familiar with the craft in question, but when I think of claws in LEGO, I think of this: (URL) that work? Allister (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

In lugnet.space, Allister McLaren writes: <snip> (...) That wouldn't quite work. Check out the link below to get an idea of what the craft looks like in the animation. The third pic on the page is a nice close up of the claw in question. (URL) (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

I agree...this is really well done. It's a nice, clean model that really carries the flavour of it's inspiration. And, it hasn't been done before...or perhaps it has and I just haven't seen it ;) Good stuff. Cheers, -G (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) great swept back like a tail, but I have to say the whole claw thing doesn't do much for me. Then again, I've never seen the show... Anyway, looks nice! -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (PS- If you don't want a smackdown from Muffin Head, you (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Jonathan Mizner also has a very nice MONO Pod design: (URL) love it. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Wow, that's cool. I don't know about the ship in question, (or the TV show in question, for that matter) but I really like the smooth angles and slopes on this. The tapered front sloping to the cockpit is done very nicely, and I like the little claw (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Thanks for the warning on the lights. When I was putting them on I was thinking "I should get up and look up the proper side to put each one on.", but I'm lazy so I didn't. Since I apparantly got them on the wrong side I'll switch them. And on the (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Now that's a wicked cool MONO pod design. I may be tempted to rebuild the Hammerhead using a MONO pod like that. Jason (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

My favorite part of this is definitely the front. The two layers of plates on top of the hinged sides looks great. This reminds me that I need to use hinges like this to define a shape more often. Good stuff. [ j o n ] -- | Lego - (URL) Shipyard - (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

The front is what got me to build it. I kept having the idea of how to build the bow banging around in my head. To keep my sanity I finaly just had to build the thing. (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)
