    New MOC: PHOD —Bram Lambrecht
With all the pods being built, I had to make one too. It had to be different though, and of course had to have stowable landing gear. It actually took a surprisingly long time to build (a few hours) to get it to look like I wanted it too. So take a (...)         Re: New MOC: PHOD —Tim Courtney
WOW!!! I love the compact design and the landing gear :-) Gonna publish an LDraw file? -Tim (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Thanks! (...) If I feel like it...for now, I think the interior shots give a pretty good look at the construction. It's pretty straight forward. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu www.bldesign.org (22 years ago, 6-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Paul Hartzog
wow, you're really on a kick about cockpits w/ guys laying down in them aren't you ;-) i think the PHOD is an excellent addition to the ongoing series of pod's around here of late. i like the horizontal look (kinda jetsons) and the landing gear, and (...)          Re: New MOC: PHOD —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Well, I figure if they're gonna have to lay down to fit, they might as well lay forward. (...) Thanks, Paul. I originally had a couple of grill printed slopes, but I decided that dials would be more greebly, and work with the color scheme (...) (22 years ago, 7-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Kirby Warden
Heh, that's pretty cool. I had to build one of my own already. My wife thinks it's cute. It was pretty easy to build. When I was just about finished, I realized that the saucers are actually supposed to rotate, so I fixed that glich, then i saw that (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Kirby Warden writes" (...) Thanks...I always know something is good when people want to build their own copies... (...) My landing gear does rotate...it's mounted on 2x2 turntables (as are the saucers). And yes, it is pretty easy to build....after (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Kirby Warden
(...) Well, how about that!! I looked and looked and just couldn't see any turntables, so I just assumed... anyway, that's pretty clever ...man, I looked and looked and looked; I knew they had to be there, but...hrmmmm. (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) I'm not a big fan of cockpits that involve lying down on your stomach, but this one is pretty cool. One of the best uses of the steering wheel piece that I've ever seen - in fact, the whole landing gear assembly is pretty dang cool. I love how (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Well, you can't always fit sitting upright... (...) That was the idea. :) (...) It's just attached to the 2x4 plate on the left side (from the driver's POV). It stays on there quite firmly. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu www.bldesign.org (22 years ago, 7-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Gil Shaw
That's what I call thinking outside the pod! Brillant spin by changing the orientation....looks much meaner this way. Amazing stuff. Cheers, -G (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Alexander Zwagerman
Wow! The Podfrenzy continues! Love the way this pod is put together, with the new orientation and the way the minifig fits snugly inside. Alexander (22 years ago, 5-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD (and a modification) —John Henry Kruer
I love it, Bram! This is really cool- I've always liked round cocpits. The landing gear is great too. What a great MOC! I've made my own- modified. It can fit 2 people inside, along with a slightly different landing mechanism. Front view: (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 6-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Yes we can. Side view: (URL) isn't very much to the side view, most of it covered by the landing gear. Construction shot: (URL) used your bracket idea, except I pushed them back 1 stud and apart 4 studs so 2 minifigs would fit. I would of (...) (22 years ago, 7-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD (and a modification) —Gil Shaw
Very nice rendition of Bram's beautiful design, John. However, I am equally interested in the larger 'mothership' you have posted. I really like the use of the SNOT 2x6x1 sloped pieces to make the canopy work. The smooth lines of the hanger doors (...) (22 years ago, 7-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD (and a modification) —John Henry Kruer
(...) Thanks, Gil! The ship should be done in maybe 5 days or a week- but I can't be sure. Schools's starting tomorrow, and who knows how much time the 8th grade will consume! -JHK (22 years ago, 7-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: PHOD —Tim Rice
