A MISB MIB?  Thats pretty cool to hear exist today-but I can't help but feel
that that's kinda a waste.  I can't keep MISB sets...one time I kept a set
MISB, and I had to put it in a hard to get and obscure place, and only after
weeks of intense meditation did I forget its location.  If these steps arn't
taken, I am liable to spontaniously begin running through the house at
cat-like speeds until I am upon the sealed set, upon which I rip it open it
a beserker rage.  Hmmm...I think this could quite go hand in hand with the
way you dislike the Legends.  You are right about one thing, though (for
sure that we can all agree on).  If Lego would simply produce quality sets
the way that they used to, we wouldn't need reissues.

Just to clarify, I don't actually keep any sets intentionally in MISB
condition, it's just that I may not have a use for every element in the set
yet.  Most of the time, I sort up front and just throw the packaging away.
I have made an exception in the case of a single set of the Blacktron I
stuff, while the elements may have been scavenged I AM keeping the boxes
pretty clean.  I suppose I should just scan them and toss them out, but
honestly they don't take up much room and can always be used for containing
things.

And I think you may have confused my views on the Legends sets with those of
Ben.  I think the Legends sets are great.  But, I do think LD needs to keep
an eye on printed element quality control; and I think certain sets should
be re-released only if LD intends to re-release them in style -- that is,
with almost all of the original elements.  If they can't really match the
set nearly element for element, they should probably release a set
"inspired" by a legendary set and maybe give us some interesting alternate
colors and such (as Ben has suggested).

FWIW, I voted for Black Falcon set, but now I kinda wish I had voted for the
Battrax instead.  TLC should really just pick up on old themes and start
anew with them.  BT1 only had five sets, and the littlest one was very BT II
in my view.  That leaves four original, hardcore BT I sets -- and that's
simply not enough.

Think of how nicely re-released Legend sets would go with newer designs in
the style of old themes...see? That's a solid marketing scheme.  It will
probably never happen.

(...) Oh, good points. I figured by MISB you meant *sealed* box, but I can understand using a different acronym than MIB/Mint in Box when we are talking about MIB/Message Intercept Bases :) If you are really thinking about scanning/tossing them out (...) (23 years ago, 19-Apr-02, to lugnet.space)
