So Josh catches the fever, eh?

I remember when it happened to me.  It was approx. 2-3 years ago, I had just
built this: http://members.aol.com/blueofnoon/lego/images/cbm00.jpg and I
was telling Craigo Hamilton about it when he chimes in with how it sounds
like I had built the castle/mad max equivalent of a Blacktron I model.
After we finished talking I raced to the computer to look at the scans on
brickshelf, and it's been bliss ever since.

My addiction to Blacktron started the day I found Lugnet, and from then on,
I never got over it. Other themes pale in comparison to it, except some of
the classic space sets, which I declare to be some of the best designs of
all time.
My favorite? It would have to be the simple 918.

I am not at all sure that there is a cure for the BT1 fever.  Since I am
several times BT1 complete (with 1/2 the sets MISB when they came into my
hands); loaded with black, trans-yellow, and trans-red elements; and have
many BT1 logo printed elements besides -- I can admit that the need to
acquire stuff does perhaps lessen over time. But if y'all are anything like
me, it never quite goes away.  Once these smiley little badasses have sunk
their hooks into your heart, you never fully recover from it. You just keep
building, and tweaking, and customizing, and etc.

There's no need to search for a BT1 cure. I was hooked the day I got
a look at those sets. Perhaps it was the sinister yellow-black color scheme, or
the multitude of rare parts, and the awesome minifigs. Anyway I looked
at Blacktron, it added up to a great theme. I'm only a third blacktron
complete, which I wish I had MISBs on hand, but If I got my hands on them,
I wouldn't let them rot on the shelf, IMO. Of course, I don't keep my sets
unopened. I guess it's a curse of mine...

...and to think that originally I was a castle forest and pirates guy!
Except for my early 80's space stuff, I don't really see myself as a space
person at all.  And I am far from complete in space except for BT1.  But
then, I don't so much collect as buy for elements anyway.

I got both ways, a bit of castle here and some space there. Guess I like to
diversify in my collecting. Sort of a balance, you know...

BTW, I can't help but recommend patience when it comes to planning your
purchases or trades.  Do not pay top dollar for this stuff! I have a funny
feeling more than we now realize may be on the way from TLC itself; but even
if it were not, patience is often rewarded.  Trust me. Probably the biggest
hassle is acquiring the trans-yellow hoses.  I wonder if the new Battrax
might contain trans-yellow hoses...

Heck no! I think $25 is a steal on a Battrax, compared to $50+ ebay prices
and even higher MISB costs. Thank goodness Blacktron made it to Legend
consideration. I doubt if the battrax would have trans yellow hoses, but one
thing is for sure, they'll be new moulding parts, not the older versions.
