Thanks! If I had had this done sooner I would've built a story around them
and submitted to the ISCC... But in a way, the ISCC entries inspired it.

The detail pics would be difficult because of the black and white color
scheme. It's just about impossible to photograph it and show any detail
because the camera just doesn't have that much contrast.
The door has to be closed from the inside. The same is true of the roof
door. If you remove the roof over the passenger area you can slide your
finger into the airlock to close both of the exterior doors. Then close the
door from the passenger compartment and replace the roof.
The sliding door itself is 2 studs thick. The part that is flush with the
fuselage is octagon-shaped, using slopes and inverse slopes with a tile on
the top. The doorway it fits into is in a 1-stud-thick wall with an octagon
opening.
Because slopes and inverse slopes don't fit together perfectly, and leave
behind a gap, it was necessary to make the door 2 studs thick. The second
layer is rectangular, so it covers the gaps left by the slopes.
Inside the airlock there is a "track" of tiles for it to slide on, once it's
been pushed in.
