thanks!
Indeed I shall share the mechanism. I actually posted the mechanism a few
months ago when I started building the SET. It was the first thing I sat
down and worked out:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=5778
The two black boxes on each end of the roto-tube get built into the walls of
the rotating section, and the locking caps get built into the hallways on
either end of the tube. This set-up allows for a passageway to be built
into a large rotating section like the one seen in the middle of SET.
as for the interior of the rotating section, if you look at:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=86342
and
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=86343
it should give you an idea of that the inside looks like.
I didn't figure out a way to make the interior of the gravity section
accessable, but I know it can be done. I was building so many models at the
same time as this one, I had to keep my mind on being practical and only
building what had to be done to finish the model.
I did design the interior, and will probably show most of that in the 4th or
5th chapter of Subterfugitives.
cheers!
