I am finished finally with the XCam anywhere rover. I just need to document the setup on the web site...soon. It appears that the download protocol and control structure bytecodes are identical between the RCX and Scout. This means that NQC can be used as-is to generate some Scout code. Hi Bert, I plan on doing a memory map on my site soon. Maybe this weekend. What I had found earlier is different than what you've found. I'll have to look into this some more. To allow for easier debugging of the Scout I've written a program (in Quick Basic) that retreives variables from the Scout while it is running a program. The variables (listed 0 -16) are displayed on the PC screen and refreshed a the touch of the (...) (26 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.robotics)

The byte codes are listed here: (URL) plan to add more documentation and examples in the near future. I'll have an example of downloading there too. I'm looking forward to becoming a scout owner this Xmas :-) In the meantime, does anyone know if there exists any software for a Psion 3 to download software into a scout via Psion serial<->IR tower or ideally, Psion IR<->Scout IR port?! Did you notice the mentioning of three types of touch sensors? This refers to the color coded switches from the Cybermaster set. Appearantly they will show up in Mindstroms sets sooner or later.
