Re: More Building Instructions for Scout?

(...) It almost seems as if the Scout is "withering on the vine." It's a cool little PBrick but there doesn't seem to be much specifically target at the Scout and the RDS. I have found that many of the models shown in the Mindstorms books can be (...) (25 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.books)

RDS #9735 Printed manual #1 Checkpoints for new owners

The printed manual #1 for the Robotics Discovery Set #9735 may confuse you while you attempt to follow the Checkpoints on pages 4 through 8. These Checkpoints allow you to check the operation of the motors, sensors, and buttons on the Scout. New (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.scout)

Re: More Building Instructions for Scout?

(...) The Scout is programmable in the exact same way the RCX is. It's just smaller. All you need is a transmission tower and NQC to do it. Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 3-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.books)

  More Building Instructions for Scout?

Do you know of any books and web sites with building instructions for models that use the Scout? Books and websites for Mindstorms include instructions for models that use the RCX , not the Scout. The Mindstorms Robotics Discovery Set provides a (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.books)

  observation of Scout behavior...

Being a novice "Mindstormer" i never fail to be enthralled (along with my cats) by the "behavior" of the Scout as it ambles about my livingroom floor seeking out light, dark or what ever i set using it's built-in "behaviors." (Still wading through (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.scout)

  Re:clearing downloaded programs from memory...

(...) ***SNIP*** With the scout (which only hold one program), (...) No, i have no specific need to clear the Scout's memory- i assumed that unless i cleared its memory i would be unable to download more to it. Thank you for the info- you've been a (...)   Re: how to clear downloaded programs from memory?

(...) There isn't any way to clear the memory from MacNQC. It wouldn't be difficult to implement it - Scout support was added rather hastily and I didn't even think of tweaking the clear memory code (its trying to delete 10 tasks and 8 subroutines (...)   how to clear downloaded programs from memory?

I downloaded a simple program to my scout, but now i can't seem to figure out how to clear it's memory. I know how to clear the "presets" in the non-power mode, but that doesn't seem to work in power mode. I'm using MacNQC 2.2a3. It's "clear memory" (...)   Re: RCX 2.0 Beta SDK and Scout

(...) Sorry Mate. But the Scout's firmware is Built in. It's can't be upgraded. And at 1k of RAM (the 2.0 Firmware is over 26K) it's not going to fit anyway. You need to get the Scout SDK, not the RCX. The Scouts firmware is almost the same as the (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.robotics.vc)
