Books and websites for Mindstorms include instructions for models that use
the RCX , not the Scout.  The Mindstorms Robotics Discovery Set provides a
Scout programmable brick with sensors, etc, but no computer programming
interface  So, Scout owners don't need documents for the programming
instructions.  They need building instructions for which they could
substitute a Scout in place of the RCX.  What books or web sites have
building instructions for models that could easily use the Scout instead of
the RCX?

The Scout is programmable in the exact same way the RCX is. It's just smaller.

All you need is a transmission tower and NQC to do it.
