It almost seems as if the Scout is "withering on the vine." It's a cool
little PBrick but there doesn't seem to be much specifically target at the
Scout and the RDS.
I have found that many of the models shown in the Mindstorms books can be
adapted for the Robotics Discovery Set (RDS). Dave Baum's book, for one is
quite helpful. I recently had a chance to flip through the "Mindstorms for
Dummies" book. It DID mention the Scout but didn't seem to offer any
projects. The upcoming idea book by Joe Negata (?) looks like it might offer
more general ideas for use with Mindstorms sets. Really, when you think
about it, that's what LEGO is all about- discovering new ways to do things,
to improvise!
Oh, and the Scout IS programmable. Quite easily! Just get an IR tower and a
copy of NQC (provided with Dave Baum's "Definitive guide..." and the
"Dummies" book.
