(...) As for this one, I thought I linked the library statically so you wouldn't require it. Oh well, I'll fix that and let people know when I've updated it. Is there a complete instruction for installing BrickOS on Linux? I'm particularly interested in details involving creating a cross-compiler and getting the USB tower to work. Ok, you can (perhaps--I haven't been able to test it yet) ignore my previous post. I was trying to build the cross compiler using GCC 3.3, and nothing I tried would work. When I switched to 3.2.3, the errors disappeared. So I'm making the temporary (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jun-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I've been trying to build a cross compiler and brick-os on my machine for a day now and well, what can I say except that all the how-to's and instructions for building brick-os seem to be either wrong, bad or out of date. Having no luck getting BrickOS and the cross compiler package to build under Mac OS X 10.2.2, I thought I'd try moving my previously working djgpp directories and LegOS 0.2.4 directories to a Virtual PC DOS session...only to remember that djgpp (...) Hello. I have finally got gcc 2.95.3 - the official brickos compiler - installed on my computer (SUSE Linux). I can type "make" and compile all the brickos directory fine. firmdl3 works fine. First off, I'd like to say that I had ZERO problems installing, building, and testing BrickOS on my PC. That's even with the BrickOS name change release and the pre-built Hitachi tools. Hi, I'm trying to get brickos working on a linux box running mandrake. I downloaded gcc-2.95.3 and binutils-2.13.1 and compiled them to make a cross compiler. That seems to have worked successfully. Actually there is a set of updated instructions for Windows with the most recent being for brickOS. brickOS is the continued development effort foe legOS.
