Hello Heiko & all other brave legOS'sers, i think i got some ideas
related to my (and maybe someone else's) troubles. gcc 2.95.2 with
Markus's patch applied looks like having general problems...
I downloaded the legOS kernel contained in the legOS-0.2.2 tarball
(legOS/boot/legOS.os) to my RCX, and from there on was able to download
demo/helloworld.lx ( compiled with my self built 2.95.2+patch gcc ) to
the RCX. However, if i start the program using the RCX's RUN button, the
RCX hangs immediately.
The legOS.srec compiled on my macheine using gcc-2.95.2 is differing to
legOS.os, so i'm thinking the problem is compiler dependent. Looks like
something inside gcc has changed from egcs-1.1.1 to gcc-2.95.2 that
makes the RCX hang.
Unfortunately, my knowledge of gcc (and compilers at all) is far too
little to give any hint what's the actual problem. I'm wondering wether
anybody has compiled the legOS kernel with any gcc later than egcs-1.1.1
and used it successfully ?
