legOS 0.2.6 installation problems - a better way?

I have been trying Set up LegOS for some time now. My first attempt using winlegOS was installed but I then found out then that it could not communicate via my usb tower.   Re: The pain of communicating with the RCX

I might be able to help somewhat. I use my PC running FreeBSD to talk to my RCX (RIS 1.5). After much heartache I found that if I used "ecu" as my terminal, it worked. I tried everything just to try them, and ecu worked the best. Ecu is old, but it (...) (27 years ago, 9-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  Infrared range of RCX

Hi all. I've been experimenting with the range of the Infrared communication between RCX's. I noticed that RCX #1 could send a message to RCX #2 at a distance of about 80 feet. However, RCX #2 could only send a message to RCX #1 at about a distance (...) (26 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  IR remote control codes.

hi all, has anyone experience with the IR codes transmitted by the remote controler. fyi- There was a pretty nasty (and stupid) bug in 2.4 a3 that would cause a crash if no serial port was specified (either with a -S option or the RCX_PORT environment var).   Lego RCX Emulator
