| | Re: Connecting two RCX's

| (...) Another case would be where you also want to use IR for doing radar. If you had IR messages bouncing around for both radar and communication, it might confuse the radar algorithm or generate incorrect readings. (You'd also have to reserve a (...) | | Connecting two RCX's
|
| Hello, I have two RCX bricks and would like them to co-operate without using the IR-Port. Is it possible to communicate by attaching a motor port of the first RCX to a sensor port of the second? As far as I know the motors work on 9V and the sensors (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| If I am understanding what you want correclty (I have never used the RCX-code) only NQC then try this. Assume: RCX2 is sending message # 15 to RCX1. RCX1 is in a waiting state until it gets the message RCX code: . . . While (Message() != 15){ ++i; } (...) (24 years ago, 31-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| | Re: Using two RCX bricks in one robot

| As long as there is some surface for the IR to bounce off, the bricks do not have to face each other. Sending messages is the technique that is used and is very effective. You can do this with any of the various programming languages. -- Bob Fay (...) (23 years ago, 18-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| Hi Stephen, you will not have success with this approach, because the LEGO firmware has no collision detection (especially no collision avoidance !) for their IR protocol. So if you're using more than 2 IR devices with LEGO firmware you will receive (...) (23 years ago, 27-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)
