  About IR Tower

I remember I connected to serial port without power off when I use IR tower every time, can it let IR tower get fault? Zhengrong (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Decoding the LEGO IR remote control

(...) The Lego IR protocol is pretty simple. If you have demodulated output, why not dump some samples here so we can see if they make sense? The encoding is straight serial, but inverted - a pulse of light indicates a zero or a low voltage on a (...) (25 years ago, 18-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  IR

Hi All. Is there a way to set the IR transmitter to something like 'long range mode'? I would like to have a more powerful beam for proximity detection. I've tried lnp_logical_range(1), doesn't seem to make a difference. The problem is that I don't (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Mac IR tower error: No response from IR device

I'm trying to download the firmware using MacNQC. When ever I try, I get the problem: Error: No response from IR device. I'm using a Mac beige G3, printer port, OS 9.0.4. I'm using a Palm Mac adapter and the lego cable. The green light does come on (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Listening to IR via NQC

I know that NQC can send IR messages; can it -- or any other command-line program -- listen to the IR port and dump any incoming messages to a file (or stdout)? (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  IR-Tower and PowerBook-G3 ?

Has anyone else had problems using the IR-Tower with a PowerBook-G3 (WallStreet '98)? I tried for two days and only got 'Problem talking to IR device' messages. Tried different cables, cont-checked both cables. Finally went and tried it on the GFs (...) (25 years ago, 10-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Hi Kekoa, Could you post your working IR .srec code or email me if possible? I have tried the examples with the LegOS read sensor routines and I still get the same results. i.e. it works at about 2mm from the unit but fails after more than 5mm. I (...)   IR Tower Use

I know this may be a bit off topic, but didn't know where else to post, I own an IR tower and remote control, and was wondering if it is possible to use the IR tower for other things. eg using PC + tower to control stereo/TV, or using IR remote to (...)
