  Problems with USB Tower
 
Hi there, I got a problem running my USB-Tower on Linux. I installed the LegoUSB-driver and it seems to work (i see it in /var/log/messages when i plug it in). But when i run firmdl3 i get the following message: /dev/usb/lego0: not a tty I tried it (...) (21 years ago, 19-Jul-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Mason, As fas as I know the usb support under linux it's not finished, some part (such as receiving works, but it's not transparent, as if you had the serial tower). You can check the current satus at: (URL) way would be to run cygwin under windows (...) (21 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I have added USB support to the Win32 version of leJOS. Hi! I'm trying to run LegOS on SuSE 9.0. I built a 2.6.9 kernel with the USB tower module. After I load the module and plug in the USB tower, the little light in the tower goes on, so I know things must be working. However, I still don't know what (...) (...) I have a working USB-tower in linux 2.4.21 using the cvs legousbdriver and nqc2.5r3. I use nqc for brickos installation 2.5.09 and dll included for lx uploads. I think I patched the brickos source with a usb patch from either (...) (21 years ago, 9-Mar-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Is your quad speed boot loader source significantly different from Kekoa's fastdl.s (with the parity disabling code removed)? I'd like to see it if (...) Try to read this page : (URL) contained a bug introduced in version 2.4.21 which will lock the kernel if used with legousbtower driver. Linux version 2.4.22-pre3 and above include the fix and are safe to use. usb-ohci was fixed in Linux version (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jan-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Bart, (...) The problem is that USB tower on linux is not supported by firmdl3/dll at the moment. I'm working on that capability now. If I can, my intent is to have it work for 2.4 (user added driver) and 2.6 (built-in driver) kernels. The USB tower (...) (21 years ago, 6-Mar-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Hi Huub, (...) have you run make? (...) You can also get it working with the CVS version of Lejos and a Linux kernel >= 2.6.7, which includes the newest driver. To get and install Lejos from CVS do $ cvs -d:pserver:anonymous...root/lejos login $ cvs (...) (20 years ago, 13-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

I put some info on what I have found using a camera with the Mars Expansion Pack on my small web pages. The USB cable is not a good umbilical, stiff.
