Hi All. I'm trying to build an IR proximity sensor with LegOS, by using the on-board transmitter and light sensor. I'm having problems figuring out how to send data, however. 		Serial Comm with RCX
I am trying to connect my HP49 Calculator with the Mindstorms IR Tower, I thought I had got the protocols right, the Green LED lights when I send the packet but nothing else, no reply from the RCX. I've managed to get a proximity detection working in legOS, using egcs 1.1.1 as the cross compiler. It has a very short range, and I haven't yet tested if the NQC variants have better range. As far as I know, it only opens the COM port when some application is actually using the .OCX, so the port should be available for use if you're not running (...) 		RCX Serial Hardware Hack
Hi As allready described in a other thread i have build a bluetoothconnection between pc and the RCX. There is one thing that the serial bluetooth is only available to tx/rx with a minimum from 4800 baud. At first i compiled brickos 0.9.0 with (...) Garry- I can't speak to your problem specifically, but you may actually want to try to make the HP speak directly to the RCX, skipping the IR Tower altogether. There was a couple of Problems. 1) At first i tried with the USB Tower but i coult only swith to 4800 bauds but there is no possibilty to change parity. 2) With the serial (...) Hi Markus, sorry for the delayed response, but finally i'm back: (...) i found a way that may be somewhat cleaner, by separating the lnp related header files needed by the utilities from the libc stuff: created a directory in legOS/include named (...) I'm a user, not engineer, but.. you might want to try this if you haven't already. I had the same difficulty and went through all the toubleshooting methods you have. Paul, I've snipped all of the text about how RoboLab and the Mac might not play nicely together. I have had great results with my own system at my office, and then when I did the tutorial at MIT, things failed miserably. I turned off the large (...)
