  Re: more user questions

A general note, there is a README.WRI file. This includes information beyond what Markus originally wrote in README. Perhaps I should have deleted his README (I include it in README.WRI, anyway). Open your copy of MAKEFILE. You'll find this line: (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: Ultimate Expansion set Remote Control?

  Ultimate Expansion set Remote Control?

One of the first things I purchased was the Mindstorms remote control. It is not expensive, less than $20 'merican. It can send messages 1, 2 and 3 (three buttons) It can force motors on forward, or reverse overriding a running program (three pairs (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: sending keepalive... ???

(...) If the readme file says the demo LX files are included, that is a mistake (or should I include them?). I'll have to correct it. As for your download problem, did you download the firmware first (firmdl3 legOS.srec)? LX files are relocatible (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  more user questions

I too have had my problems with this system. Perhaps they come from my inexperience with LEGOS or UNIX, which doubtless is apparent in my description below: Downloading and installing went well. Then, after correcting a minor SET PATH syntax error (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  sending keepalive... ???

Hi You go to all the hassle of making LegOS available for us Windows users and still we have questions. I'm really struggling and can not find anything in the docs or Lugnet to help (that I understand) and so I would really apreciate some help. I (...)   Re: legOS for Windows

Install ActivePerl ((URL) switch to the boot directory, and type MAKE. That's it. What you can't build with this package are the various command line tools (makelx.exe, firmdl3.exe, dll.exe), nor the cross compiler. Rossz (...) (...) Yes, I tested it and it worked on my Win98! Great work!! Thanks! (...) Do you mean that the kernel can be rebuild on Windows? Which parts/utilities cannot be rebuilt? best regards, Vlad (26 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: which motors for an rcx

(...) They will ALL work. The difference is the size of the motor and it's speed/torque. There are a few good sites that explain the motors. Dean (26 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  which motors for an rcx

  legOS for Windows

For those of you overwhelmed by the work involved to get a viable legOS developement system on the Windows OS, legOS for Windows is now available.   QC question

Hi! I have given QC a try and noticed that after shutting the RCX off and restarting it, one does not go back to the QC application, but the ROM routines are in control. I suppose some vectors have to be adjusted in order to not let that happen? (...) (26 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

New to RCX -- A couple of questions

I lucked into a FOTW and am now the proud owner of an RCX. I'm playing around with the Lego programming system for now. As a result, I've got a couple of newbie type questions: Is there a Mindstorms FAQ available? Also, one of my motors sticks a (...) (26 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  OpenSource project hosting and tools

Hi! I have "stumbled" across a rather new site that offers hosting and a lot of free tools for managing OpenSource projects. Since many projects around here are in that category, I thought I'd let everyone know about it too. The place is at (URL) (...) (26 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Review: Quite C

Hi all! Since I gave a try to Quite C, and since there may be more people interested, I decided to write my opinion about it.   Couple Questions

1. Out of curiosity, what pieces are in the 1.0 kit that aren't in 1.5? Why did LEGO remove those 10 pieces? 2. Where could we buy RIS kits in bulk? Say around 40, preferably at discount price (below $200)? 3. Is anyone using them in college level (...) (26 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
