  Re: Does my RCX work?

(...) Hi Marc, After you put batteries in, press the on/off button, it should beep twice and show a little man beside the number 1. If you don't get that, you have problems they may be fixable, but you probably want to seek help from someone (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

  Re: Does my RCX work?

(...) First, put batteries in it and turn it on. It'll beep 'ok'. Then attach a technic 9v motor to port A with a wire and press Run. If the motor spins, the brick has basic sanity, and it's worth your time and money to get a IR tower to program it (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

  Does my RCX work?

Hello all. I know almost nothing about LEGO robotics, but my mom picked up an RCX 1.0 brick at a yard sale. I just have the brick - no accessories, no software. Before I go buying stuff to go with it, is there any way to tell if this thing even (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

  Re: rebeco

I have to say I really like the ideas in this. Having seen Jason Railton's automation recently and having been considereing technic solutions for train things any overlap of the two is good in my book. Just one thing tho, the video of the (...)   rebeco

hi i finished this moc two months ago but i had some problems to post messages to lugnet. It is called "Rebeco", which means "REBocador E COmutador". Those are portuguese words for the main functions it has. It is very compact, has a size not much (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Brick Basket

Hi there, finally i found the time to publish some of my robots, designs and rendered animations on the web. Have a look at: (URL) will add more material on a regular basis. Hopefully i will be ready until the NTX will be released ;) Regards Carsten (19 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Useful Track and Electrical Data

Regular browsers of Brickshelf might have noticed that I added a new track plans section to my gallery: (URL) the 9V folder (URL) there are useful modules such as Curves (URL) and Double Bends (URL) , conforming to various minimum radii depending on (...)   Re: Programming the RCX using Lego's RCX Software

(...) In the GUI thing, I think so. The actual firmware ticks every 0.01 seconds though, but you can't really tell where between ticks you are. (...) They may, but probably not. The monitoring code is a pretty constant drain unless the user switches (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Programming the RCX using Lego's RCX Software

I am relatively new to the RIS, the RCX, and the RCX software. Just like many of you, I discovered pretty quickly that the RCX software is not intuitive to someone who has done programming before. What I can visualize doing in C, I struggle to (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: color sensor

(...) Happy Christmas to you too! ... and yes, I have a bench prototype running using that TAOS chip. As per my previous attempts at a color sensor however, it is proving very difficult to make the sensor range and orientation independent. JB (19 years ago, 25-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  color sensor

hi all, first for all a happy christmas to everybody. I just ran into this nice looking color sensor TCS230, which might be useful for detecting Lego colors. (URL) Mientki (19 years ago, 25-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Bluetooth

Beware of the fact that the outputs on the RCX output PWM. You will probably want rectification, and need smoothing to get a nice constant voltage (some regulator in the LM series) to power the board. Anyway - it sounds like a really good idea - I (...)   Re: Bluetooth

(...) Have a look at (URL) Here you reach much higher baud rates Cheers (19 years ago, 2-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Bluetooth

(...) Great! I'll look forward to its development....any ideas on what you will use it on first? Chris (19 years ago, 2-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Bluetooth

I’ve just started a little project of building an interface between a RCX and a Bluetooth. For power supply I’m thinking of using one of the outputs on the RCX and for communication I’ll use the IR port(2400-baud), similar to Mindsensors´s RCX to (...)   Help me convert this train program to use events (NQC)

For Christmas I'm setting up a LEGO train on top of a narrow wall, so it has to operate like a shuttle -- stop at each end and reverse motor direction. My first attempt had a train regulator attached to a polarity switch, with the switch being (...)   Re: Problem with IR

(...) I tried adding -v & > output.txt but it didn't work. All it did was light up the towers LED for a bit then quit back to the command line. It did work when I used -v, showing all the sent bytes, but the download still failed. I also managed to (...) (19 years ago, 24-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Problem with IR

(...) Can you post the output generated by NQC when you add -v to the command line? nqc -Susb -TRCX2 -v -d filename.nqc > output.txt Or you could just email it to me directly. John Hansen (19 years ago, 24-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Problem with IR

(...) Ok, your right they are separate, so that if I left the second -Susb out, my program wouldn't download via the USB tower, but would go to my other RCX via the serial tower. My batch-file is this: nqc -Susb -firmfast c:\newrcx~1.lgo nqc -Susb (...) (19 years ago, 22-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Problem with IR

(...) Why couldn't it be that if the firmware downloads? When I download my firmware, it's completely seperate from when I download nqc progs. Hope you get it sorted soon. (...) (19 years ago, 22-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
