Re: RCX 1.0 and RCX 1.5 - ANY differences???

(...) I've been running the alpha 2.0 firmware on my 1.0 RCX for a while now. Works great, extra features are useful. (24 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Vision Command

(...) The camera is compatible with the VFW and can be used as a general purpose camera with anything that uses VFW. Vision Command on the other hand, does not use VFW and therefore is not compatible with other cameras. Later, Guy (24 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Using a Sony Remote control to run my Mindstorms...

(...) A related thought, Radio Shack among others sells remotes that can learn by watching other remotes blink commands and storing them into the remote. One might be able to capture signals from the Lego remote, and perhaps even capture signals (...) (24 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Using a Sony Remote control to run my Mindstorms...

Howdy, I have a Sony RM-AV2000 remote control. Is there anyway to use it to control my Lego Mindstorms kit? Jason (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: IRPD sensors and LegOS (long)

Well, I worked on it a bit and added two routines: TurnTo(int New_Direction) => Figures the quickest way to turn from the current Direction to the new one. Retrace(int N) => Retraces the last N number of legs of it's journey. Change the #define LEGS (...) (24 years ago, 30-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: IRPD sensors and LegOS (long)

Since IRPD doesn't use the upper half of the sensor range (above 512), it looks like it could easily be multiplexed with a touch sensor. Has anyone tried this? (I would try it myself, but I haven't bought an IRPD [yet!].) (...) -- ___...___ $50,000 (...) (24 years ago, 30-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  IRPD sensors and LegOS (long)

Well, after much frustration and a great deal of help from the very wise Rossz, I was finally able to get up and running w/ DJGPP and LegOS 0.2.4 The first thing I did was write a program to use with Pete Sevcik's IRPD proximity detectors that he (...)   Vision Command Wires

Vision Command is a monster install. Mine crashed when it got to the part where you plug in the camera and it does the hardware install. I was cheating a bit. My Logitec Pro camera has about a five foot cord, so I had a 10 foot extension. Since it (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  One Way/No Way wires

Use of diodes to MUX two motors on a single output has been known for a long time. I have not seen a description of just putting the diode in the wire itself to make a One Way wire. If you use two you get a No-Way wire which does not sound useful. (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Linking failure when 'making' an lx file

(...) Sorry about the extra stuff, the linking problem was due to the compiler trying to find the above link "___ucmpsi2". When I used h8300-hitachi-hms-nm I could see all the methods and links in my code, and this was the only strange looking one. (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Linking failure when 'making' an lx file

Hi Can anyone tell me why I'm getting a linking failure when trying to compile my C code, in the standard way. The linker is failing to find a fucntion I have defined in my source: /usr/local/crossgcc/...chi-hms-ld -T ../boot/legOS.lds -relax (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Motor Sticking

Hello all, I don't remember if other people have posted about this or not but I'll ask anyway. I have 3 motors that all stall or will not start with out some help. Has anyone of Lego come up with away to fix this problem? My motors are 1-2 yrs old (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Using NQC with iBook

(...) No extra cables needed. The PDA adapter's DB9 is a configured as a standard serial port. (...) Yep. Under MacOS, this is all you do. Lon (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Blockin LNP calls

(...) I guess I'm using lnp_logical_write then? That is, I include the standard lib_lnp.h file into my code and then link my app with liblnp.so.....does this answer your question? Is there a way in which I can call lnp_logical_write directly to test (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Using NQC with iBook

I use the Keyspan TWIN adapter (USB to serial port) along with a simple mac-to-pc style serial adapter (I think it came with a Pilot 1000 many years ago). The TWIN adapter is a bit pricey, but I bought it because it also works with externally synced (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Using NQC with iBook

Okay, but don't I have to buy a second adapter so that the IR cable can fit in the Keyspan PDA adapter? Or like cut up and change positions of the IR-cable inputs? Or do I just have to buy an adapter, connect it, connect the IR tower, download NQC (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Blockin LNP calls

(...) No, I meant lnp_logical_write, which is called from lnp_addressing_write. lnp_logical_write is not within the file lnp.c, which I guess you link into your app. This function is supposed to actually write to the serial device communicating with (...)   Re: Vision Command

(...) It's possible, but I can't find a way to choose which VfW device to use. The options for tweaking the camera are very limited. I did get more sophisticated options during the install, but apparently that was my only chance to use them, cuz now (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Vision Command

(...) You can do what you want with the camera, but there's a 5 meter USB cord that has to be plugged into the computer if you want the camera to do anything. (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)
