  Which Palm?

Is there a list of Palms which I can use with my RCX etc? I am thinking of getting used one just to use with my RCX - but I don't want to by the "wrong" one. I'm grateful for any help given... as always. Scott A (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Palm Hardware Interface idea?

Got some specs for the SV200 controller board that the PPRK uses: The SV203 is a Microchip PIC16C73 microcontroller based servo motor controller board. It accepts RS232 serial data signal from a host computer and outputs PWM (pulse width modulated) (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Palm Based RCX Robot Idea...

(...) <snip> (...) Hmmm...I was thinking about this after I saw the Palm Pilot based robot kit on Slashdot. How about a modified interface board that connects with the Palm Pilot via the serial port and then it has an array of RCX compatible Inputs (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  rcx+hp48gx

Hi, i like to do a remote control for the RCX with my old hp48gx, but i don't understand the package structure, (what is the number of the bits?, the header, stop bits, parity, how to use the opcodes....etc). Who to teach me hear?? thanks (26 years ago, 27-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  RCX tower for HotSync?

Has anyone has any success in using the Mindstorms IR tower with a Palm for IR HotSync with a desktop? Cheers, Steve (26 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: The palm IR tools

LRemote uses the same IR codes as the LEGO remote does. It is still worth trying to train OmniRemote that way though. With OmniRemote, doing the same thing in a different way can make a big difference. I don't know why. Train some buttons and see (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: The palm IR tools

Let me ask another (ignorant) question, then. Have you tried using the LRemote or BrickRemote programs that use an IR tower connected to the Palm device ((URL) As it happens, I have 2 palms (and if you count the emulator, one more ala my laptop to (...)   Re: The palm IR tools

(...) Edward, I have planned on updating the Palm Remote program for some time. The main problem with OmniRemote is that it is recording a pure IR signal along with the unavoidable background interference that is difficult to minimize. Think of it (...)   Re: The palm IR tools

(...) It's certainly possible. Whether anyone will actually go as far as to make something that can do that is an open question. :) (26 years ago, 14-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  The palm IR tools

Well, I have had great success using the palm to RCX tools (connecting the Palm device to the IR tower for transmission to the bots) and somewhat limited success with the Omniremote program that uses the built in IR port on the Palm III. My advice? (...) (26 years ago, 14-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: Palm IR

(...) Yes, that would be great. Even short-range communication would be cool, as it would allow me to put my Palm on a lego robot as "extended brain". bye, Georg (26 years ago, 10-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  RCX as TV remote?

Hi, all. I just got an RIS for Christmas, and I've been happily alternating between hacking on it and lurking here and at the various Lego sites on the web. Yippee, legos! Ahem. I've been interested in the possibilities of using my Palm IIIe as a (...) (26 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Palm IR

Has anyone seriously looked into setting up the Palm's IR for communicating with the RCX? I was thinking of working on this and I wanted to make sure that I won't be duplicating anyone's efforts. FWIW ... I just downloaded, installed, and tested LRemote 1.1 and BrickRemote 0.6. Everything works great - good job Mike and anyone else that helped!   Re: Training OmniRemote for RCX commands

(...) I see. So OmniRemote isn't generic enough to handle all codes from any IR device? I guess that would create a lot of overhead that the developer of OmniRemote doesn't need to get involved with, if they just want to remain in the context of (...)
