German Gentile from Argentina, hmmmmm..... Well, it fits my
USA-media-distorted, sitcom-soaked, soundbyte-educated worldview!
Sounds like you need to use the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) ports on
the Handyboards. When one of the slaves wishes to talk, it asserts a
signal line so the others stay quiet. Does the PC have a SPI port?
Another way would be to run a common signal that one processor could
assert and disable any other talking, allowing you to then use any
communications method you want. Or you could have each processor listen
for a while, and talk if the line is quiet (a la Ethernet). That last
will result in some collisions, so you'll have to be able to recover
gracefully.

| Just another idea. What if you attached all the boards in a ring, sort of the token ring network idea that IBM used in their networks. Only make communications go in a clockwise path, and give each board an id#. Send the number and then the info. (...) (27 years ago, 17-Jun-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
