  IR raw output

Hello all! I'd like to know if anybody ever tried to control a Nikon camcorder thru it's IR sensor. I think that the codes are Sony compatible, since I saw an identical camcorder, except that there was Sony trademark on it :). Anyway, I only want to (...) Howdy, I just put up the first bit of the work in progress on my robot (named "GADGET"). The URL is (URL) I hope you will find it interesting! John Whitten (28 years ago, 10-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IC memory error

The freeware version of IC runs in a virtual DOS box. Check your configuration settings to make sure you give the maximal amount of conventional (640K) memory to the DOS box. Also, try using the .pif file that is distributed with IC. -Fred In your (...) (28 years ago, 9-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: "Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation" for FIVE BUCKS!!

(...) No. I got my book in about a week, and the invoice has no phone or more complete address than shown above. They do not accept phone orders or credit cards. (28 years ago, 9-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: NiCd pack

(...) They can. The 600mA is really 600mA-h (milliamp hours). It's a rating on how long the pack lasts on a charge. If I recall correctly it's measured over 20 hours. The 600mA-h pack can deliver 30 mA for 20 hours before it goes dead, or at least (...) (28 years ago, 9-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  MIDI

I'm trying to get the SCI to send MIDI asynchronous serial data (8/1/1 @ 31.25 kilobaud). Is it possible to make the SCI send data that fast instead of the standard 9600 baud? Has anyone done this? Colby (28 years ago, 9-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  NiCd pack

What does this mean, ...a 9.6v, 600mA battery pack... in the HB Tech Ref? I thought NiCd's can deliver lots of current. (28 years ago, 9-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Run Time error 1

Peter: run-time error 1 is "no stack place for start_process()". This is given in the IC/Handy Board manual. The reason is your "repeat" procedure, which keeps making more processes!! Instead of this, put each of your subprocesses in a loop; e.g: (...) (28 years ago, 8-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Run Time error 1

Hello, I'm new at IC and I don't really know how to fix all the errors yet. Can you please download the attached file and look it over for any problems and tell me how to fix the Run Time Error 1. Thank You, Peter Eacmen (28 years ago, 8-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  DS1233-10

Hello everybody, HELP HELP HELP ... I can't found the Dallas 1233-10 circuit in Belgium, it's the only part I need to continue my HB to the end. BUT I found an IC from Maxim that could do the job, is it true? This part is the MAX809L (threshold of (...) (28 years ago, 8-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: "Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation" for FIVE BUCKS!!

(...) I like the book "Sensors for Mobile Robots" by H.R. Everett. It doesn't have alot of microrobtics in it but is good for theory and to build you a foundation in Robotics Technology. (28 years ago, 8-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Mini Board or Handy Board?

(...) In answer to your last question, the best price I have seen for the MC68HC11E1FN is at B.G. Micro for $6.95 if my memory is correct. I have dealt with them before and not had any problems so far. You can check the price on their web page at (...) (28 years ago, 7-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Mini Board or Handy Board?

(...) A little background, my first robot controller was the 1802 based ELF processor ca. 1979, it didn't do much. The first mobile robot I built was tethered to a Heathkit H-8. The first untethered robot used a Xerox 820 mainboard, and a lot of (...) (28 years ago, 7-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Mini Board or Handy Board?

I am just getting into robotics and microcontrollers, and have run up against a brick wall.   Polaroid Sonar Ranging Module

Hi ! Again this is a question about the Polaroid Sonar Module. Some times ago I disasembled a partly dead Polaroid camera and now I have a neat little board with the sonar transducer conected to it.   Re: Interactive C - Preprocessing?

Hans, Thanks for this. Actually, I am now using the CPP that comes with the GNU-C / AS11 set for the PCODE & *.ICB re-compilation. I call my real source *.IC and pre-process it into *.C, then let IC load that .C file. I am winning in a clumsy way I (...) (28 years ago, 6-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Pic16c84 programming with Handyboard

David -- The MAX662 chip I used on the last beta rev was not the magic bullet I hoped. Not only is there possibly the rise time problem you mention, but when the thing turns off, it outputs 5v. The PIC needs a swing from 0v to 12v to enter program (...) (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
