I suppose if I had a linux laptop, I wouldn't mind so much... :-) I suppose I prefer the graphical versions becaused I've been using them for some time, and have gotten used to their feel. (...) Good question. Many UNIX programs are text-based, which allows easier integration with editors, etc. (if you disable paren balencing, you should be able to run IC under emacs, for example). Well, I finally broke down and bought a PC. (after being an amiga user for serveral years...) In an attempt to make life more interesting, i decided to install linux on my system. (...) Lots of robot stuff can be had at thrift stores. Salvation Army, Goodwill, ARC, etc. Sometimes you get deals, sometimes you get junk, but it is usually a better price than retail. Fred & others, FYI, there were 5 teams of LEGO robots (using 6270 and HB) in the "grown-up" category from Penn State Abington-Ogontz (Abington, PA). How does one get the Sharp GP1U52 recievers to acknowledge the 100/125 hz scheme? I've tried using the set_ir_recieve_frequency and ir_counts routines but I only seem to be able to get recognition on port 15. Is there another piece of code that has (...)
