One obvious thing is that you must declare your local variables at the start of the function before any statements. Gary Livick (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

i've IC version 2.82. whenever i load the program below, it keeps giving me an error on the line which 'INT SPEED_TABLE[]' is declared. what's wrong?? void main() { int i; start_press(); int speed_table[]= {0b00000000, (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  speed control bytes

i understand that when the PWM is off, the mask: 0b11111111 switches all motor ports on in the forward direction. but if the PWM is on, what bit string correspond to what speed? is it possible to have motor ports 0 and 1 controlled using PWM while (...)   system_pwm_off

The 'system_pwm_off' function comes standard with the 'lib_hb.c' file. this function switches the PWM off for all the motor ports. is it possible to turn the pwm off for a specific motor port while the others are able to run with PWM? i've a DC (...)   Motor driver circute problem Using L298N

Hi guys, I built a Hbridge motor driver using the IC L298N. But it is not working properly. It is swithcing properly with the inputs but it is not drawing the current required for the motor. I am sensing the out Voltage as 8v but when i connect the (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Advice

Need more information. What kind of "light" sensors are you referring to? CdS cels, IR light sensors, active sensors? There is alot of information on wiring sensors in the Handyboard manual available in the Documentation section of the MIT (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Futaba or Hitec servos

(...) As always with the "what is better" question, I must ask... What do you mean by "better"? They will operate the same, I think they have the same cable pinout. The Hitec ones are cheaper usually, but a little larger for the same specs. At the (...) (25 years ago, 19-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Shaft Encoders

(...) While I am not familiar with the LEGO Rotation Sensor (simply because I havn't got one yet), I have constructed, for the moment, a "homebrew" rotation sensor. My recent models have mostly been models of the robots we build at work. They are (...) (25 years ago, 18-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

HB heat problems, HB connectivity problems (Mac)

I have two HandyBoards. One is having a severe heating problem on the second from the bottom chip on the left side. It is getting to the point that after a few minutes of being on, it is painful to touch. All of the solder points to that chip appear (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Help with IR receive

I just added the Sharp IS1U621 to my handyboard. That is apparently a substitute for the ISU160. When I run the simple test program: while (1) {if (4 & peek(0x1000)) fd(0); else bk(0);} my lights continuously flicker. When I put my logic proble on (...)   Firefighting robots

I'm building a robot for the 2000 Trinity College competition. Since the goals of the contest are fairly complex and I'm new to programming, does anyone know of source code listings for a sumo bot?   Mystery problem

I have been having a weird non-fatal problem lately with my handyboard. I put some code into the other night that was simply calling the testanalogs() function on startup.   Re: servo motor design

If you are using a Handyboard then what you probably want to do is simulate a servo motor rather than actually go through the effort of building one that behaves like the ones from a hobby shop. As an example, if you had a lego motor driving a gear (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
