  RC bot base

Hello All, I have just purchased a new TYCO 9.6V Zig Zag car. It seems to have a fairly good base w/treads. I connected it to the handyboard (after gutting it and extending the wires ). Next I gave the motors a test and they both ran way too fast. (...) (27 years ago, 1-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Voltage problem

Well, further experimentation revealed that the chips are working, but with a quirk: If the the input of the '232 (pin 10) is tied to ground (pin 15), then the output (pin 7 of the '232, or pin 3 of J9) goes to the expected value of ~+10 volts. If, (...) (27 years ago, 1-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: servos?

The best places are the mail order hobby stores. They have the widest selection of servos and very good prices. The two I recommend are Tower Hobbies (www.towerhobbies.com) and Hobby Shack (www.hobbyshack.com). Either of these sells servos cheaper (...) (27 years ago, 1-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: servos?

(...) Phil, Have you tried this site: www.robotstore.com ? They have servos in discount packs as well as serial controllers for them. Cheers Massimo Piccoli -only wanting to know something new puts you a step forward- (27 years ago, 1-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  servos?

hi! Does anyone know of a good (prefferably cheap) source for servos? The hobby shops nearby seem to be pretty steep in their pricing. Does anyone know of a good, cheap source for new or used servos? Thanks a million! phil thehahns@nconnect.net (27 years ago, 1-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Voltage problem?

Salutations all, I've got two serial charger boards that are behaving starngely... At the end of the second assembly stage, after installing the MAX232, I get what appears to be an improper voltage when the 232's pin 10 is tied to -10 volts. Here's (...) The optrex lcd is available from Digi-key part number 73-1039-ND $11.97 with a $5 handling charge for less than $25 order. I assume that the DMC-16249B version would (...) (...) If anyone is having trouble finding the DS-1233-10's, I might be able to help. I have had to order 5 of them to get the one I need so I would be willing to either send them to others at my cost or preferably to trade at least one of them for (...)   Re: LCD Displays

Hey there, sorry I forgot to mention a few things to you: Digikey stocks the Optrex LCDs, they're about $12/ea, and since you're probably ordering from them anyway, it's no problem. The difference between the B and UB versions, I think, is that the (...) (27 years ago, 29-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  LCD Displays

  Quality Technologies QRD1114 and QRB1114?

  DLM and Mini Board

Billy, (...) Make sure your defaults are right. Type "DLM" with no args to see the possibilities. You want -256 and -mb.
