  RE: IC 3.1

also, joe... there are several programs you can run to get more conventional memory (640)... dos 6.0 to 6.22 comes with memmaker... run this a couple times, toy with the settings a bit to see what you can pull off... one of the settings may cause (...)   Motors: Please help! Going out of my mind...

Please somebody help! Actually it's not quite that bad, but I've been searching and hunting trying to find some motors to use for a new robot base. Does anyone have any suggestions for where to find motors with gearboxes that can carry a few pounds (...) (27 years ago, 25-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  clueless programmer

First time I have wrote to the list hope it goes well... To be honest I don't have a clue on how to program in 'C' or any thing else for that matter. But I'm slowly learning. I want to write a program similar to that of the Tutebot from the "Mobile (...) (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Nitintol wire

I am in need of a small amount (5inches) of that wire that changes shape when applied heat. (200F). Anyone know where I can get a small quanity very fast. thanks (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: weird headers

(...) Thanks, I stuck a pot in it's place and fiddled with it until I got 4.49k and it worked great. I came up with the 4.49k by taking 1/x*.0068 = 32.75. Where .0068 is the cap, and 32.75 was my desired frequency. So x was determined to be 4.49 (...) (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR

Hi Fred, I do not know exactly of your situation with the IR detector/emitter arrangement. I found that it sometimes picks up noise occassionally. I also found that with small resister in the range that you are using (330ohms), the range is too much (...) (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  price

I also would like to ask you guys where the best place to purchase a handy board is. How much money do you save if you build it yourself as opposed to buying a pre-assembled board? Being a college student, money is an issue. The few places on the (...) (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  weird headers

That particular weird header is originated by John Whitten, aka root@snotnose.wizard.org, not my mail list program. All my mail list program does is forward along any mail sent to "handyboard@media.mit.edu" to each person on the distribution list. (...) (27 years ago, 22-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR

Fred, could you please reconfigure your mailer? I'm getting some very strange headers, and it upsets Eudora Pro's filtering. Here's what you're sending it to: To: "'Handyboard'" <IMCEAX400-c=US+3Ba=...MTP=handyb oard+40media+2Emit+2...vetel.com> (...) (27 years ago, 22-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Cost of HandyBoard???

(...) I was wondering if someone could tell me how much it would cost if I were to build a HandyBoard from scratch. The cost would include that of etching the pcb at home, all parts, interface cables, batteries etc... Thanx (27 years ago, 22-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: IR

Brett, Since I'm going through a couple of corporate LANs and WANs, it would be no easy task to reconfigure my mailer. Perhaps you could tell Eudora to filter your messages if the To: field *contains* the word handyboard, rather than the whole (...) (27 years ago, 22-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR

  IR

Hello all, I've been playing with IR proximity sensors, and wonder if anyone can provide some suggestions. I hooked up an IR LED (Radio Shack 'high output IR LED') to the Handyboard's IR output with a 330ohm resistor in series (the smallest value (...)   Re: Digital Micro Systems

Hi Joseph, No, I have never had any problems with Digital Micro Systems. Actually, I am pleased with them. I ordered an assembled board a few months back and got the board on time. Later on I was suspecting something wrong with the board and I had (...) (27 years ago, 21-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Well, It works! :)

Howdy all, They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery- Thank you Fred Martin for designing such a cool board like the Handyboard!
