  memory not remembering...

I'm stumped. In the process of assembling my first handyboard, I have just reached the stage where I install the memory (all previous checkpoints passed). The computer successfully downloads the bootstrap, sets the config register correctly, and (...) (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  -POWER-GLITCH-

My handyboard is experiencing some kind of a -POWER-GLITCH-. At least that's what is displayed just before the board shuts itself off. How did this happen, and what can I do about it? Thanks in advance. Avard Fairbanks (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IC loop

(...) There are a number of ways to do this in C. If you get the code that comes with the Handyboard, they have msleep(500L); which sleeps for 500 milliseconds (L for LONG Integer) and then returns to the calling program. My code is at work, but I'm (...) (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Mobile Robots book

(...) True. I ordered one, then another a few weeks later at $4.95. About two months ago I tried to get five and they were out of stock. They won't post their phone number and it isn't included in their newspaper-like catalog that I now get every (...) (28 years ago, 25-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  IC 3.1

Has anyone used IC 3.1 yet and does anyone know when it will be available for Windows 3.11 or win32? Thanks. Keith Soldavin kas219@email.psu.edu (28 years ago, 25-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Mobile Robots book

(...) Yes, Edward R. Hamilton Booksellers has been sending me thier list periodically now and I never saw the Mobile Robots Book in it. I guess it's a good chance that they probably will not restock it. (...) (28 years ago, 25-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  8MHz crystal

The 8MHz crystal is no longer listed in the Mouser Catalog (part #332-5080). When I look in the DigiKey catalog, it lists several 8 Mhz crystals with different load capacitances (18pF, 20pF, 32pF, and Series). Does it matter which I get? If so, (...)   Mobile Robots book

Hello: Sometimes back there were posts here that the Mobile Robots book could be obtained from a bookseller in CT for $5! However, later appends said that this booksellers stock was exhausted. Are there any other discount book sellers around? (...) (28 years ago, 25-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  books

Hi all, What is the best way to get my hands on a copy of Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation? My local book vendor wants me to wait two months for it. I'm hoping to find a faster solution. Thanks, Dave (28 years ago, 24-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I have just had no success at all finding this part in the UK. I even talke to Hitachi UK and was told that if I wanted any it would have to be 100+ with a 20 week lead time!   Re: Problems with downloading

Tom: Your tests, specifically the fact that the HB's PWR LED comes on after download fails, demonstrate conclusively that the HB can *receive* data from your PC. This proves that the downloading software is able to open the serial port properly, and (...) (28 years ago, 23-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Problems with downloading

I'm trying to download the pcode_hb.s19 file to the handy board and I'm having a very hard time. I using win95 on a P5 and 200mhz. I setup the com port settings at 110 and no data flow.   RE: dual servo update

(...) I use Futabas. The 32.768 mS interval is convenient because the 68HC11's 16-bit timer on a 2 MHz clock overflows at that time, allowing easier programming of the TOC functions. Has anyone found the upper limit on the time interval for Futaba (...) (28 years ago, 23-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IC loop

Hi Wade, You can use the "seconds()" function which reports elapsed time, plus a variable to keep track of when the loop should end: void main() { float end_time; end_time= seconds() + 20.; /* go for 20 seconds */ while (seconds() < end_time) { /* (...)   IC loop
